Puxley Manor is on the same estate as
Dunboy Castle and located on a beautiful
inlet from the sea on the Beara Peninsula
near Castletownberehaven
This one time grand estate was in use
until the 1920's when it was burned out
by local IRA who believed that the owners
were storing weapons for the opposition.
Visitors will pass by the original gatehouse
(photo below right) and through a gate before
coming to the manor. Visitors are asked
to keep the gate closed as there are horses
and cattle that share the land around the
estate.
