LOOP HEAD
County Clare

Loop Head, view north

At the most southern point of County Clare is Loop Head and the Loop Head Lighthouse. This lighthouse is an automated station though not open to the public.

Loop Head is an excellent place for a picnic, lighthouse buffs and anyone interested in seeing more of Clare's dramatic coastline.

This area of County Clare is probably the least visited but one of the most bucolic. The cliffs at Loop Head are not as tall as those at the Cliffs of Moher but they are equally dramatic.

Sea birds such as Kittwakes and Puffins can be seen flying around the cliffs.
