Foynes Flying Boat
Museum monument
|
Even though Foynes had a very short lived history,
from the 1930s through 1940s, it was the primary terminus
for the eastern route across the Atlantic. It was
also the first route set up for passenger travel and
holiday makers. The terminal now serves as a museum
to the history of the "flying boat" and
sea plane service in Ireland. The original weatherand
radion room and the 1940s style tea room are particularly
evocative of that era. Don't miss the audio/visual
show!
