Dundrum House is an 18th century working farmhouse set on 80-acres
where they raise beef and sheep. The Callen River flows along
the boundary of the farm, and there are areas for guests to
take a stroll. The house survived WWII, a time when iron items
were in high demand, even in Ireland. Attempts were made to
take the long white gates at the front of the estate, but it
was unsuccessful. The gates remain a regional landmark today.
There are two types accommodation available here, bed and breakfast
and self-catering.
B&B - All bedrooms are en-suite and comfortably
yet simply decorated in a country style. Two of the rooms have
stunning views of the pastures. There is a guest lounge available
for coffee/tea making facilities, TV and the use of the home
computer. Guests with laptops can take advantage of Wi-Fi from
the bedrooms. While the bedrooms are simply adorned, the rest
of the house is a testament to its history and grandeur.
Self-Catering - A restored hay loft has been converted
into a three bedroom self-catered accommodation. All bedrooms
are en-suite with two rooms upstairs and one downstairs which
is handicap accessible. The kitchen is fully equipped with all
modern amenities, including a dining table and small sitting
area. The lounge is comfortable and welcoming. There is a laundry
room available in another building and Wi-Fi connection available.
Dundrum House is a very relaxing stay, and close to attractions
in the county.
