Knappogue Castle was built in 1467 by Sean MacNamara. Over
the years the castle was extended to include private apartments
that were once lived in by the Andrews family. These apartments
have been tastefully restored and are now available to guests
on a self-catering basis. Accommodation includes a formal drawing
room with fireplace and baby grand piano, formal dining room
with fireplace, five bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, and a
fully fitted kitchen. The Drawing Room includes a fireplace
and baby grand piano. The Dining Room has a fireplace, TV with
DVD and internet access. The kitchen is fully equipped with
all electric fixtures and include a washer/dryer, dishwasher
and ice machine. On-site parking and gardens available. The
castle is part of a tourist attraction so guest should be aware
that the main keep and surrounding area will be bustling during
the day. Medieval banquets most nights.
A stay at Knappogue Castle will enhance any travel program.
