Ballyportry Castle is another fine example of a restored 15th
century keep. This castle has five floors with six bedrooms
and three bathrooms on separate levels. This is a fully self-equipped
accommodation that includes a second smaller cooking area on
the top floor. The castle was lovingly restored to retain many
original features, including spiral stone stairs, open stone
hearths and the vaulted ceiling in the Great Hall. While the
castle has a wonderful medieval atmosphere, it fully caters
to modern living with central heating, running water and glass
in the windows! The kitchens are fully modernized with all electric
fixtures. Guest garden within the original stone walls. Private
