The Harbour Masters House as built in 1806 along the banks
of the Grand Canal, the east-west route that was created to
move products from Dublin to inland communities, particularly
Guinness. Today the canal is used for pleasure crafts, which
are often seen on the canal. The house has been lovingly restored
to include all en-suite bedrooms, which are tastefully decorated.
Coffee/tea making facilities are in the room, as is a TV and
hairdryer. Some rooms have views of the canal. There is a guest
lounge available with an open fire. Guest garden also available,
and of course the canal is just across the road. And the village
of Shannon Harbour is just steps from the house.
This is an ideal base for a long weekend of rest and relaxation.
And perhaps even some boating and fishing.
