REVIEW
Kinnitty Castle's history dates back much
farther than the 19th century Gothic Revival castle
that we see today. In fact, the estate dates as far
back as 1200AD. The original castle was detroyed in
war not 10 years later but was rebuilt again by Normans
in 1213. Since that time the castle was ruined and
rebuilt several times until 1811 when the Pain Brothers,
architects of Dromoland and Adare Manor, were commissioned
to restore and extend the castle into what we see
today. Today all rooms are en suite and have been
exactlingly desorated with antiques. The house, overall,
is luxurious, giving guests a sense of stepping back
into the 19th century. Estate amenities include an
equestrian center, clay shooting, falconry, shooting,
golf, fishing, walking and more. For groups, the castle
opperates the lavishly decorated Moneyguyeen
Country House.
